Pop-Up Habitat Classes
A new program for Spring 2021 designed to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols, while maintaining our dedication to environmental and outdoor learning!

Parents: Select one habitat class (dates & times below!) for your pre-K, K-2nd, or 3rd-6th grade student this spring! Our new class model maintains our dedication to environmental education AND adheres to COVID-19 safety protocols. For example: Health attestations, social distancing, and face masks for volunteers and participants are required to participate. Volunteer instructors will all have completed their full series of COVID-19 vaccination before teaching. Class is exclusively outdoors (except for bathroom use), and has a limited number of participants to ensure social distancing. Materials will be single use, or sanitized between groups.
During your student’s ~45 minute lesson, we will explore the forest trails and stream to carefully observe habitats and the creatures who live there, as well as items that don’t belong. At the bank of the Creek, students will take on the character of a riparian inhabitant and identify its role in the ecosystem. We will make observations about riparian creatures in nature journals (K-6th), and asses the health of the stream habitat (3-6th).
Class is the same each week, not a series that builds on itself (yet!) unfortunately, so you’ll want to select the one class that works best for you and your child.
